5) I did not expect to be so jazzed when I saw Mark Pellegrino's name on the credits. But boy was I jazzed. He is the surprise winner of this episode.

19) When Castiel starts to lose control? Really and truly terrifying. Fantastic.

20) We think it's ironically beautiful that Dean decided to watch some Overfiend when he's gonna end up fighting tentacle monsters. XDDDDDDDDDDDD

21) So I don't think anyone really bought Dean's "just kill him" act. Dean is like a lot of us in some respects -- he's trying to cauterize himself against further hurt by getting rid of Cas before he has to watch Cas self-destruct and/or tempt him again with their profound bond. And I love Sam not just for the Sassy innuendo but for reaching out, knowing that if Cas came to him, Dean would be forced to face his conflicting feelings. And the moment when Cas shows up? All my creyes forever.

22) Minor nitpick - I thought it was less than satisfying that Castiel only admitted his mistake because the souls were about to bust out of him. He did not exhibit remorse for his actions as God, his smiting and his spurning of his friends. He was like a thief who only is sorry that he/she is caught. If I were a writer on the show, I'd pitch the idea that Castiel will only be able to reject the leviathan when he is truly sorry for his actions. But then again, I spent the summer arguing that Castiel's actions (at least up to the point where he decided to keep the souls) were totally justified, so I guess I'm a fickle fan. XD

23) And then let's discuss the Dean/Cas scenes in the lab. My overriding comment on these scenes? BOBBY, GO LOOK THE FUCK FOR SAM SO DEAN AND CAS CAN KISS AND MAKE UP.

24) AND LUCIFER. MOTHEREFFING LUCIFER. YOU. YOU ARE AMAZEBALLS. WHAT AN AMAZING TWIST, SERIOUSLY. I expected hallucinations and whatnot, but Sam unsure if he's STILL IN HELL? Holy CRAP that's amazing. Bravo, writers.

25) DEAN RUSHING TO PROP UP HIS COLLAPSING BOYFRIEND. Just stating.

26) Twitter quote of the episode, self-congratulatory edition: THERE ISN'T ENOUGH WINE IN ALL OF EARTH AND PURGATORY FOR THIS. By me. Duh.

27) OH MY GOD DEAN AND CAS. Dean getting pissed at Cas' body and then immediately recanting all his anger when Cas woke up. BOBBY. GO LOOK FOR SAM. THEY NEED TO KISS.

28) Most significant line of this half of the episode: "I mean it." That says to me that Castiel is not gonna be gonzo, that he's going to find some strength or some way to fight his way back to Dean. Although he had better change his clothes if he does, because that boy is wanted for multiple murders.

29) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND THEN THE CREEPY. THE OMG MISHA IS THE KING TROLL OF ALL TROLLS. THE GRIN. THE OH MY GOD YES YES YES YES. CTHULHU!MISHA, PLEASE KINDLY TENTACLE-MOLEST ME, I'M GOOD WITH IT. XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

30) And then no Cthulhustiel in the preview? Those fuckers. I'm guessing he disappears pretty early on in the episode and most of the season will be spent looking for him. Ah well.
