tiptoe39: a girl with magical powers should never be taken lightly (yessss)

1) MISHA INTRO!!!!/SURPRISE GABRIELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL/Oh my god I loved all the Casbacks ^___^ Mmmmmmmmm.

2) This episode was deliciously, Ben Edlundy-GROSS. I absolutely adored it. That's the kind of stomach-curdling awesome I like on my TV screen. Awesome.

3) Two naked boys PLUS Castiel's return? Show, you are TOO GOOD TO ME.

4) I still want to know why the Impala's license plate number is different this season.

5) So now Sam is fucking a whore, even though she says he should call on her night off, he insists on paying her? This has to be some sort of guilt thing, and it's a clue. If we didn't have that, I'd suspect that we're in a body-swap episode. Sam, you playboy you.

6) Corrupt Cop is Corrupt. If you Didn't Get That, Let Me Show You Some Alcohol.
And today's moral is: SLURPEES (and possibly murder) are bad for your skin.

7) I love that the boys are such soulmates that their ties match without having coordinated them. Because it's not like they only have one tie each, right?

8) OK I am liking this new down-to-business Sam. Evil!Sam never did it for me, but antihero!Sam? Him I like. IDEC.

9) The car-racing scene was legendary. Damn, this was a Charger-bashing episode. Dodge is gonna sue. I love that they banged the doors shut at the same time, too, that cracked me up.

10) Their banter is epic. Oh, boys. I want to smush them.

11) MOTHER FUCKER, SAM IS A ROCKETTE! Nice high kick there, Bambi!

12) There are no words for how awesome the before-and-after of Cas' "hello" is. That scene was amazing. From the prayer, Dean's "Do you copy?" and "Dean and I share a more profound bond" ... oh god. Just. SHOW. *draws hearts around*

13) LOL @ Sam's one-word Cas imitation.

14) "It does help one to focus." "I think we can rule Moses out as a suspect." Snarky Cas is love.

15) "Chuck Heston's disco stick" - half expected Castiel to say "Wrong Chuck, but you're close."

16) "a multidimensional wavelength of celestial intent." Hottest one I've ever laid eyes on. BTW, What did Dean say that Cas didn't get? "That brings us back to __?"

17) The way Misha plays these scenes is so intense. You can see in his every expression, every movement, how troubled he is, how much he wishes he didn't have this weight on his shoulders. I kind of want the boys to find some way to help him. They owe him that much after calling him a dick and a son of a bitch >.> I love how he's cranky, but he's never unlikeable. His harshness has so much justification.

18) "I can't care about that. I don't have the luxury." So, so painful to hear. Misha's amazing with the way he conveys how much he wants to care, how much he'd rather be with them...

19) CAS MADE A SNOW ANGEL ON SAM'S CAR. I dunno, it was the first thing I thought.

20) I really think Enochian sounds weird and unsexy.

21) I love Sebastian Roche. I loved him in Fringe, I love him here, even if his character is slightly derivative of the tropes we've already seen in angels/demons/whatever. He's like Cary Elwes in The Princess Bride, but with more experience and a slightly weird face.

22) "Why won't any of you listen?" Oh God, this broke my heart. a thousand times. Again. Just the tone of voice and the eyes. It's so funny, they can bring back Grampa and shout about alpha monsters but all of that pales in comparison to my interest in what's going on in Heaven (and in Cas' heart) because his acting gives what could have been a plain story this intense emotional resonance.

23) Is it bad that Cas' in-pain face makes me want to kiss it? There was this one shot, when he was on the landing of the stares I think, and he was wincing and howling and he looked so good. >.> I might be a sicko.

24) "Look at my junk." Things you never thought you'd hear on television...

25) I'm a little pissed that Cas just disappeared, but I think it was consistent with his character right now. Now as long as they don't drop that thread, as long as they take us there and to this world of private hurt that's going on with both Cas and Sam, don't let us down with those revelations and resolutions... it'll be OK.

26) They better have a helluva revelation in mind for Sam. Because the last time we saw this, Dean was on the other end, and we learned about his torturing, and it broke a thousand hearts. This better be just as good, and not stupid. *crosses fingers... HARD*

Have at it, kids!

I read a spoiler somewhere re: said Sam-revelation, and I would be more than happy to share, if you are inclined to know. It's super-vague, but still a bit useful.

I loved this episode. I really, really loved this episode.
One of the reasons why was because of the contrast it shows between the hedonist angels - Balthazar and Gabriel. I've seen a lot of questions about why Gabriel doesn't qualify as fallen, and I think Balthazar provides an answer for many of them. Gabriel left out of love and a refusal to choose between his brothers. Balthy, on the other hand, left because the shit got real, which would be understandable were it not for the fact that he stole a bunch of God's shit before he left. Now, he occupies his time by doing whatever the fuck he wants and hoarding souls. Gabriel's role as the Trickster, on the other hand, reflects his role as the Archangel of Judgment; it's a bit on the inverted, perverse side, but it could still be construed as him carrying out Divine Will.
I've seen Balthazar called a bastardized love-child of Gabriel and Crowley, and his necessity as a character called into question, but I think that, given the above observations, it's understandable why he was included.

Re: all your other points... AGREED!

That spoiler: around 6.06 (I think it's supposed to be in 6.06) there's going to be a world-rocking revelation by one brother that leaves the other, and I quote, "reeling". It was recently revealed that the world-rocking revelation will come from Sam.
and I cannot wait.

I can definitely see the parallels to Bela, and I feel a bit dumb for not noticing them before. I sort of fixated on the contrast between him and Gabriel because I found it interesting. Either way, I can't wait to see more of him.

I'm afraid we're going to have to wait to learn more.
I'm okay with that, though. I want my world to be appropriately rocked, with no forewarning whatsoever. :)
