BLEH.
1) The show opens thus: Samuel completely fails to interest me with his utterly complex backstory. Then it sucks to be Peter for about 30 seconds. Then we go right back to someone I don't care about.
2) She has a cat. That means I'm supposed to like her. See this? This is me trying.
3) Gretchen's brownnosing-biteme-bitchfais is very iconnable. But if I were Claire, the LAST person I'd trust with my secret is the girl who insinuates herself into my vulnerable state in order to find OUT my secret. It's just counterintuitive.
4) Peter has a type. His type is misanthropes with vague regional accents. Claude is going to come out from behind a tree and slap Samuel around a bit.
5) I think that Indian lunch is the closest we're gonna get to seeing Mohinder for a while. It's the Mohinder Suresh Memorial Masala! *is racist*
6) OK, pleasantly surprised by Sylar not doing what I thought he was doing all episode. Very tricksy and fun to watch, even if I'm a) not liking watching Matt in pain/getting weak and b) pretty sure I agree with another reviewer who said at this point it doesn't feel like Sylar so much as Zachary Quinto Acting Creepy (TM). The core of the character is gone.
7) Hesam is SO in love with Peter. "We're partners," he said. "I'm your chaffeur," he said. The only thing he didn't say was "...you bitch!"
8) There was some clever use of powers in this ep. I liked the Human Photoshop effect. Very cute. So is the ink oil-based? Is that why he can control it? Or did he like smex Lydia's power away from her?
9) Heroes tries to get us to care about webisodes by giving us a scene between two characters we don't yet care about. Brilliant marketing from the folks that brought us... well, from the folks that brought us Heroes. *facefault*
10) When Claire started talking about not wanting to hold anything back, I thought she was going to come out to Gretchen. Now THAT would have rocked.
11) Emma's power is beautiful. It totally stole an idea from my novel (down to the synesthesia-no-it's-not-it's-a-power bit! UGH! Poor Karen, everyone will call you a ripoff now if I ever publish!), but it's beautiful. Unfortunately, it's just too late for beauty at this point. It would have been wonderful in the second season. Now, it just... doesn't work anymore.
12) Um, guy with a really expensive-looking cello just leaves it there in the middle of new york? and doesn't come screaming at emma the minute she touches it? Asking for it to be stolen much?
13) In the manner of all sociopathic villain types, Samuel takes his inability to have what he wants right fucking now and screw everybody else as a huge betrayal by all of society and responds with carnage. DUDE. IT WAS A DINNER PARTY. COME BACK TOMORROW. I still am completely unmoved by your backstory, BTW.
14) Nice mood lighting during the Claire/Gretchen Truth or Dare scene. The girlcrush is moving along nicely.
15) Matt is an idiot. Samuel is an asshole. I think at this point everyone can be divided up into idiots or assholes. Matt is turning into a hybrid, though. Idhole? Assiot? (An Idhole sounds like a hole for your id, which could be awesome.) Having seen full-on revenge!Matt and remorseful mylife is over!Matt, I think I prefer him evil on purpose. Matt. Get with Sylar. Make with the smexing in your brains, and then go dark dark dark. That would rock. (I smell a ficbunny.)
16) This show is losing me.
17) ETA: EXCUSE ME!?!? ANOTHER GIRL UNDER THE STAIRS AND STILL YOU DON'T THINK OF THE FIRST ONE YOU FOUND THERE!? GOD FUCKING DAMN, PARKMAN!!!!!
I really think only your prompts of great Crack Porn are gonna make me feel better about this.... ;_;

Date: 2009-09-29 05:25 am (UTC)I hope they expand Emma's character. There is so much room for growth. She could be the blonde character who LIVES (unlike Linderman and Nikki and Tracy [except not] and Daphne and Elle. I'm sure Jessica was blonde, too.) and she could be JUST WHAT THIS SHOW NEEDS. //Deanne Bray fan
