I know this probably wasn't your intention, but the section about Ted's wife dying had a very Old Testement (and forgive the Biblical reference, I'm not sure if Torah-esque is even a word...gah babble) feel to it.
The first instance was the hospital scene and the death of Ted's wife. It had the undertone of Matt and Lindermann as angels (Lindermann as an angel of Death, Matt as a Guardian for Ted), silently standing by as she passed on.
This tone grew stronger during the hair plucking. I couldn't help but see Ted on his knees in a desert, sackcloth draped across his body and ash on his skin, tearing out his hair and bellowing his grief until Matt came down with words of strength and comfort.
Aya, I think too much. This was quite epic my dearest darlingest Tippy. I'm glad I don't have to shake you. Just keep my supply fresh and on a consistant schedule, and I shall purr in contentment like the lionesses you write about.
