WAFFathon 2012 Official Thread
Welcome, everyone, to the fourth official WAFFathon, making the Internet a little happier. The premise behind the WAFFathon is simple: Fandom is great, but let's face it, it can get pretty dark around here at times. Not to mention that it rains absolute CRAP on the characters we most love. So to make their not-quite-canon lives a little better, and to increase the per-capita volume of Warm and Fuzzy Feelings (WAFF for short) on these here intertubes, the WAFFathon has arrived!
This year I'm upping the ante by putting my money where my WAFF is... see more behind the cut!
How to Play:
1) Comment with a fandom, a pairing, and a prompt. Your prompt can be specific, general, vague, cryptic, silly, goofy, OOC, AU, sexy, anything you like, so long as it brings a little sunshine in the end.
2) Find a prompt you like and make something fluffy and feel-goody out of it. Fanfic, fanart, manips, icons, vids, fanmixes, motis and macros, and anything else creative are all welcome. Adult content is also welcome, but remember that the goal is to be WAFFy!
3) Post it (or a link to it) in the comments.
4) Watch people's lives light up!
The Rules:
1) Provide lots of encouragement to the creators. Feedback. Compliment. Hug. Friend. Mem. It's good karma.
2) This meme will be very lightly policed, but policed it will be. So behave. No trashing of others, fandoms, ships, chars, stories, or the meme writ large will be tolerated. Friendly concrit or suggestions are fine, but keep in mind that we are trying to make people happy, not insecure. As your Moddess Goddess(TM), I reserve the right to do what I feel I need to do. Which I hope will be nothing, but which you are hereby forewarned can change depending on my very mercurial mood. So... like I said. Behave.
3) I have no end date in sight for this meme, but I suggest keeping it a weeklong activity.
4) You are more than welcome to crosspost your creative works wherever you like. It should go without saying that taking someone else's work and passing it off as your own elsewhere is unacceptable by any definition. I refer folks to

A couple of extra things you can do if you want to make everyone happier:
1) Readers/viewers: If you find an author/creative person you like, go back through their other works and comment on them, or rec their works on your journal. Creative people love feedback and it's especially gratifying when you get feedback on something you thought was lost to time and when someone likes your work enough to recommend it to his or her friends.
2) Creators: be sure to thank readers for their time and energy spent on your work. Friend them if they've friended you or recced you. One of the great things about fan-creative communities is the proximity you can have to the people you admire and respect. We don't get to have conversations with Joss and Kripke and the rest, but we can talk to each other and that's even cooler.
3) Pimp this meme to any friends or communities you think would be interested. You can find banners and code at the Banner Thread. Hotlink your little hearts out!
4) If you're feeling really encouraged, please consider making the world a better place on behalf of the fandom community.

And then we'll switch back and we'll be, what? Friends? Just that, again?
It's not enough. Doesn't seem nearly like enough. And when the tear runs down Dean's face when they're done filming Heart, they're broken and aching so badly they need ten minutes to walk it off.
Which they do. In silence, through the Vancouver wood, for a good ten minutes. Just side by side, not touching.
Finally Jared runs his fingers through his hair. "OK," he says, exhaling, "OK, think I'm good now. You good?"
Jensen exhales too. "We should probably head back."
"Not like they can do it without us," Jared says. "Let's hang here a bit."
"Why here?" Jensen says. He turns around slowly, eyes the birches and evergreens. "There's nothing here."
"You're here," Jared says. It's lower than his usual. Almost sounds like Sam. Almost.
But it isn't, they're not Dean and Sam, they wouldn't die for each other necessarily, so what's with the serious-schoolboy bit? It makes Jensen nervous, makes him stare up at Jared in confusion, and when Jared stares back at him the way Sam stares at Dean sometimes, it's all confusing and fuzzy.
"We're done, man," he says, hoarse. "You're okay, remember? You're good."
"Yeah, I know." Jared's smile is a wider, more glowing thing than Sam's by any stretch of the imagination. "Just having a moment."
"A moment?" Jensen arches an eyebrow.
"You ever just look around and say, wow, my life is really incredible right now?" OK, now this is 100 percent Jared. The ground underneath Jensen feels a bit more solid. "I have this job that moves me emotionally, we're gonna get a third season, we have the most incredible writers and crew, and I have -- just the most incredible co-star and friend --"
"Stop it, I'm blushing," Jensen grumbles, but nothing can stop Jared when he's gotten started.
"--I'm serious, man, I mean, we could have hated each other, we could have been stuck in this thing together and instead I've got someone I can depend on. In any situation, no matter what they're asking us to you, you always put a hundred percent into it and you gotta know how much I appreciate that."
"No, seriously, stop it," Jensen cranks at him. "You're embarrassing the hell out of me."
"In front of who?" Jared grins, spreads his arms wide. "There's nothing here, just like you said."
Jared's not the only one who can throw a man's words back in his face. "You're here."
"Yeah, but it's me. You couldn't embarrass yourself in front of me if you tried."
"I could." Jensen stares at him. "Cause we're not who we play. I don't know you that well."
"We've been doing this for two years."
"Even so."
"Well, what do you want to know?" Jared flings his arms wide open. "I'm an open book."
Jensen frowns. "It's not that easy and you know it."
"Tell me about it." Jared frowns. "Look, I'm trying to get you to let me in."
"Let you in? I--" And Jensen stops, because what is he going to say? That he's afraid of becoming more and more like their characters because Jared's the kind of guy he could spend forever trying to protect, and if Jared doesn't feel the same way it would ruin them forever? Would make their 17-hour days hell instead of heaven? That's not a line he can cross without thinking. "We're friends already, isn't that enough?"
"What if it isn't enough for me?" Jared says. The words come quickly, automatically. Jensen never expected them. His head snaps up and he meets Jared's eyes.

"What?" he manages, squinting, as Jared gets closer.
"You heard me," Jared says. His eyes are curiously intense, and Jensen wants to squirm. "What if I've been working with you every day and loving every minute of it because I care about you? Because you're an amazing actor and we have an amazing show, too, but what if it wouldn't be the same without you?"
"Are you having a moment again?" Jensen says, and his jaw stutters to a halt at he feel of Jared's fingers on it.
"Something like that." Jared's voice goes low and hoarse. "Jensen, what if I--"
"Guys!"
The clarion call of the PA, who has clearly run for a good five minutes straight just trying to find them. "Can you guys get back for a bit? We have some supplemental shooting we need to do, cover a few more angles--"
"Sure, sure, be right there!" Jared waves in broad strokes of his arm, grinning, not shying away from Jensen by an inch. Jensen takes the opportunity to step back, but it doesn't lessen the tingle in his fingers, the sudden thereness of whatever was going to happen between them.
They walk back, 10 minutes, and when Jensen looks at Jared, he only gets a grin in return. And work's different, work's full of tension, just like Jensen feared. They get on set and their eyes meet and there's an untold story there, something they haven't been able to work out, and it's hanging over them.
And the director is loving every second. And weirdly enough, so's Jensen.
They go through it, wrap up, and Jensen's vibrating the whole time, like a plucked string. His body's singing a low note. It's OK, this time, to play the chemistry and the devotion between Dean and Sam, because there's something else, something distinct between him and Jared. Not the same thing. Not character bleed. A real desire that's mutual and flowing. Because of that, he can sink into Dean and no longer be afraid of confusion when he comes out of it.
And then, Jared's on his trailer steps. He looks weirdly subdued. Jensen stills, stands a few yards away, staring at him.
"Can we talk?" says Jared.
"Sure, man." Jensen fumbles for the trailer keys. "C'mon in."
"I wanted to say I'm sorry if I over--" Jared starts as Jensen approaches the steps. And then he stops, because Jensen's stopped, right at the foot of the steps, and is staring again. And this time his mind is racing with this is Jared, this is the guy who came into your life and changed it, and if it's life why don't you live it like he does, out loud, fearless, instead of worrying about things that might never happen, like being embarrassed in front of nobody?
"You OK?" Jared asks when the silence drags on too.
Jensen gives a wan smile. "Yeah," he says. "I think I'm just having a moment."
And he plants himself in Jared's lap and kisses him.
Jared makes a noise, then his lips curve next to Jensen's and he's wrapping his arms around him, shrugging him close. His lips are warm, eager, and when the kiss ends Jared squeezes him tight and holds him there.
"Hell of a moment," he murmurs. Jensen nods and lets his head rest on Jared's shoulder. No reason the moment has to end here, not anymore.
