Pearl String of Fics: First Kisses In the Rain

So inspired partly by comment_fic and partly by my amazing Twitter timeline, I'd like to open up the first ever Pearl String of Fics.

In the comments, please leave a short fic/drabble depicting a First Kiss in the Rain. Any pairing or fandom is welcome. There may be many Dean/Castiel fics, but we'll just consider them the white pearls, and the other pairings are the colored pearls that liven up the necklace, yes?

There isn't a muscle in Jensen's body that doesn't ache. He's cold, and he's wet and they've shot this scene so many damn times that he's pretty sure he's going to be reciting the lines in his sleep.

Jared does his best to lighten the mood by goofing around between takes and joking that he's going to grab a bottle of shampoo in a minute and wash his hair outside so he doesn't have to bother with a shower when he gets home. Jensen isn't fooled though. He can see the tight lines around Jared's eyes when he smiles. He's just as bone tired as the rest of them.

Finally, after an eternity, the director calls a wrap and everyone starts packing up with sighs of relief. At this point Jensen is pretty sure he could quite happily just collapse into the mud and sleep there.

"Jensen?"

All of a sudden Jared is there in front of him, the extra few inches of height shielding Jensen from the worst of the rain and his eyes warm with concern as he brushes away a wayward drop that is about to fall into Jensen's eyes.

This is always how it's been. They take care of each other on screen and off and right now Jensen can't even remember how he functioned before Jared Padalecki came into his life. He moves without thinking, leaning into Jared's warmth and tipping his head to catch Jared's lips with his own. Jared lets out a surprised noise in the back of his throat and then kisses Jensen back. It's soft and warm and for a moment Jensen forgets about the rain and the cold and the aches. All that matter is him and Jared, together, the way it should always be.

When they finally pull back from each other Jared doesn't ask any questions or demand an explanation for what just happened. He simply smiles and brushes a hand over Jensen's cheek.

"Let's go home."

Kali/Gabriel

Her skin is black, shining in the newborn light of the sun. He gestures to the sky to draw her attention upwards, ever upwards. "I made it for you," he says, and dances another step.

She smiles, a slow and prowling smile that stretches her red lips to their limits. "No," she says knowingly. "You did not make the sun. You did not make the sky."

He flits out of sight. "Of course I did." Reappears above her in the branches of a banyan tree. "I am Shiva, and this is a new era for us."

Kali fingers the knife at her belt, the blade as red as her lips. "You are no Shiva."

"Brahmin, then."

She shakes her head. Does not stop smiling. "No, not he."

He drapes himself from the tree and allows her to touch him, his snowy wings, with her six hands. "I made a sun for you. Be reasonable."

Her eyes go black as her skin, and her hair stands on end as the air becomes charged with something that smells of heaven. Despite himself, he retreats back into the safety of the tree. The air darkens, roils in the sky like velvet.

"What are you doing?" he asks.

"You say you made the sun," she intones. "Where has it gone?" The air becomes thick and heated. Something falls on his wings, wets them down, wets down the bark of the tree, makes slick the green leaves. He tilts his five-starred face up to the black sky. Water is falling from it in torrents, like a river from the heavens. The sun is missing behind the clouds.

"That is a nice trick," he says. "What do you call it?"

"Rain," she says, and reaches up with her fifth arm to cup the back of his head. "And I will call you Loki, the one who loves tricks." She brushes her lips against his as rain falls on the earth for the very first time.
