Picspam: Supernatural Is Sailor Moon

I have repeated to a few people that I thought the Supernatural season finale was very reminiscent of the final episode of an anime. And you may recall that I made a strong case a while back for Castiel having Anime Eyes.

Well, I have refined my theories, and I would like to state as convincingly as I can today for the record:

That's right, they are the SAME THING. The order is a little mucked around with, but if you would venture with me behind the cut, I will attempt to explain. Shall we?

Element

Supernatural

Sailor Moon

Our heroes meet up and plan to hit the road and take the fight to the enemy.

The enemy greets them by taking the form of those they love.

Our hero is despondent, but eventually is determined to go on and face the final battle.

Meanwhile, catastrophic events are taking place all over the globe.

Those we thought were friends meet on the battlefield as our enemies...

...but our hero arrives just in time, and in fine style.

Tragically, the supporting characters and friends sacrifice themselves to buy our hero some time...

lol splodey head

...and then the one person our hero cares for the most proceeds to beat the living crap out of him/her.

Our hero just takes the beating, trying to get through to the possessed love interest friend...

And all it takes is a burst of light from a very special object that they once shared.

Now the memories flood back!

(Actually, the Sailor Moon episode gets two sets of shiny objects and flashbacks.)

The evil retreats and good takes over, but not in time to save our co-star.

Our hero is left half-dead and in grief, with nothing left but to fade away.

Hey, look, people falling into giant whirlpools! Another common point!

But wondrous power heals all!

And as we close, we think maybe our hero will finally have that normal life he/she always wanted.

But destiny is always waiting...

Much obliged to both!
